After many years of performing Asafo developed workshops to go into schools, mental institutions prisons and hospitals. In one such project, he worked with children at Great Ormond Street Hospital, giving them an opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings, and openly discuss what they were going through. From their words a poetry book was created, that the children entitled 'Love Peace & the Future'
In East Africa 2004, Asafo traveled to Tanzania on, behalf of the AHF to run a three-week project called 'Wonderful World'. He headed seventeen intensive dance workshops, working with around 135 children across three local orphanages and one school .
Using Kazimba - Dance and Poetry, as the main tools and , closely supported and guided by local artists and volunteers, he sought to raise the young people's awareness of social issues, such as HIV, underage sex and positive and practical attitudes, whilst at the same time promoting the value and importance of traditional cultural forms. At the end of the three weeks, the children and underground musicians got a chance to participate in a concert, called 'Fikra Chanya' (Positive thinking) performing alongside established musicians.
